It is not definite that they are 2nd gen. The tapes were recorded very hot at times. C is louder than A and B which are a good match for one another. Echoes on the end of B cuts with the side of the tape completely running out. This is a fascinating recording. I think the taper struggled with his tape recorder but when things settle and the sound is at its best it has great atmosphere. It was a messy transfer to speed correct, with all kinds of speed slides and cuts. Goldenband identified seven different places where speed changes varying between +1.63 and +4.43% were required and one where no change was needed. Unfortunately the results are still imperfect, as the re-entry of U&T runs too fast for ~60 seconds before settling down to the correct speed.
