Notes raw transfer of my 3rd gen cassettes that I received in a trade with an experienced collector in January 1996. This transfer has a nice ambience and seems warmer and more upfront than the 2nd gen DAT source that does the rounds.

You may note that GITC is 2.5% fast but after that the recording quickly settles down so no speed correction was judged to be necessary. Stereo audience recordings of Pink Floyd were relatively rare in 1971 and it is nice to hear reasonably good separation between the channels most of the time, particularly when listening on headphones. Further adjustments, as part of a re-mastering, would be beneficial for some of the tracks.

The songs were arranged in the wrong order on my tapes:
A - GITC / CWTAE / FOS
B - AHM / ASOS
C - ASOS (continues) / Echoes / STC
D - STC (continues) / Cymbaline

Mixed tape stock was used by my source. I never liked it when this happened but on this occasion it does not appear to have had a detrimental affect. Sides A to B are on a Maxell XLII-S 90 and the second tape is a Maxell XLII 90.

After setting satisfactory input levels for side A, I found side B to be louder so turned down both channels. Side C would have been too quiet so I made a further adjustment. Side D was a good match for side C, so no further changes were necessary. I would not ordinarily alter my recording levels when songs are split between sides but it was necessary for ASOS, otherwise there would have been a distinctive drop in volume.
