This was one of a couple of extra gigs put on after the first show at The Forum sold out. The venue The Kelvin Club is an exclusive Melbourne club that opened its doors as an after hours venue for the festival. Capacity for the shows would probably have been about slightly more than 100 people, so it was quite an intimate show.

The club itself is amazing, something from another era. I was reminded of Sir Henry at Rawlinson End, Vivian Stanshalls creation, if any of you are familiar with that. The show was upstairs in two rooms that were separated by folding doors, obviously open. The band were in one room, whilst the audience occupied the other. There were potted palms all round the place on sideboards and so on. Real or artificial. I dont know. Furniture looked ancient and there was a full sized stuffed camel off to one side in the band room, Michael Ray draws attention to it towards the end of the show.

I sat in the front row, in the centre, with the band about 2 metres away. Mics on the lapels facing forward. It was a great show and I really enjoyed it. I bought a ticket for this, as I thought my seat at the Forum show on the following night was not so good, it turned out ok, but more on that soon.
