Downloaded from dime. Seeder?s notes:
The recording presented here is from a cassette received in trade in 1973. It's a bit longer than the boot, mostly due to the presence of a fragment of "Berlin" not included on the CD, and it has slightly better sound quality, although the analog distortion that's present on the boot is also present here--it sounds like the original recording was overmodulated.
These aren't really home recordings but the soundtrack to a videotape recorded by writer and producer Richard Robinson at his apartment. "Hangin' 'Round" and "Walk On The Wild Side" have significantly different lyrics than their later released versions. The backing vocals on "Hangin' 'Round" are by Lisa Robinson and (I think) Brigid Polk. That's Richard Meltzer accompanying Lou on "Walk On The Wild Side" and "The Kids" (labeled on my tape as "I am the Water Man," although it's doubtful if that was ever actually the title of the song.)

Notes from dimeadozen.org: A couple of weeks into their UK tour, ostensibly to promote the as-yet unreleased "Transformer", Lou and the Tots play at Leicester University. The set list has evolved a little since the tour began, but there are still no "Transformer" tunes (he?s surprised when someone calls out for "Walk On The Wild Side"). One of the best (if not THE best) shows of the 1972 tour - a truly outstanding selection of songs and inspired performances from the whole band. "I'll Be Your Mirror" and "Who Loves The Sun?" make rare appearances, there's an achingly tender solo version of "Candy Says", a nice loose version of "Sister Ray", and possibly the earliest known "solo" live rendition of "Lisa Says". And Lou has a few words of introduction for most of them.

On "Sister Ray", Lou and band are joined by the support act, Phillip Goodhand Tait, who played piano (and harmonica?). This must surely be the only recorded version of "Sister Ray" with what sounds like a harmonica solo.
All of disc 1 and the 1st track on disc 2 are a straight transfer of a poor quality cassette of the whole show. The remaining tracks on disc 2 are from the "Some Kinda Love" vinyl bootleg LP which was issued in the mid 1980s.

16. Sister Ray
The opening night of the "Berlin" aka the "Rock and Roll Animal" tour, as captured by an excellent audience recording (certainly for its time).
Notes from the source: "The reason that the sound quality changes in the middle of Sister Ray is that everyone in the crowd was standing up at that point, so the taper got up off the ground, stood up, and held his little $25 Radio Shack tape recorder above the crowd's heads. And that is a dog's stifled bark in the middle of Satellite of Love--a seeing-eye dog belonging to a blind girl at the show."

NOTE: The original bootleg "U.S.A. 1993" contained Pete's show at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music on August 7th 1993 (plus two bonus tracks from the first show at the Beacon Theatre on July 12th.) This concert has been officially released on CD as "BAM 1993" in Pete's signature series of live recordings, and on DVD as "Pychoderelict Live in New York". However, these regular releases omit three songs, which are featured on the boot. Therefore, tracks 03-05 of this disc are the missing songs from Pete's BAM show; the first two tracks appeared as bonus tracks on the original boot.
