Bob Marley & The Wailers
Date Venue - City, State Comment Media
1. 10/31/73 The Record Plant - Sausalito, CA This is the correct date for the show that's often mislabeled 12/73 KSAN radio broadcast - the air date was 12/02/73 but it was recorded on 10/31/73. This was recorded shortly after the Wailers were kicked off the Sly & The Family Stone tour for actually drawing more attention than Sly. They were stranded and the K-SAN station booked them at the Matrix Club as well as giving them this Radio time. Lineup: Bob Marley: Guitar and Vocals Peter Tosh: Rhythm Guitar and Vocal Earl 'Wire' Lindo: Keyboards Aston 'Family Man' Barrett: Bass Carlton Barrett: Drums "Walk The Proud Land" is the same song as "Rude Boy", with slightly different text written by Bunny Wailer, but here Bob is singing his lyrics version, so it's called "Rude Boy". After "Rastaman Chant" there's the instrumental jam of "Keep The Faith". SHN 1
2. 04/19/80 Rufaro Stadium - Salisbury, Zimbabwe This was the free show (on April 19, 1980) that was held after the Zimbabwe independence celebration; many mislabeled forms of this concert exist. A riot broke out on the first night of these shows (on April 18, 1980), and so that show was cancelled. Probably incomplete. SHN 1

1. 11/19/93 Hampton Coliseum - Hampton, VA Jerry Garcia Band: Jerry Garcia - guitar, vocals John Kahn - bass Melvin Seals - keyboards David Kemper - drums Jacklyn LaBranch - backing vocals Gloria Jones - backing vocals David Kemper's last show. For reasons unknown, Kemper was replaced after 10 years by Don Baldwin. Baldwin had played with Melvin Seals and Mickey Thomas in the Elvin Bishop Group in the 70s, and then had joined Thomas in the Starship in the 1980s. Presumably Seals recommended him for the Garcia Band, although Garcia and Kahn would have been familiar with his drumming from the past. SHN 2 notes

The crowd was yelling "Virginia loves you Trey," and he said back "Thank you, i love virginia too, very cool place to play music. Hey isn't that famous line, Virginia is for lovers?" (crowd went nuts). Then trey said, I'm originally from Jersey, I don't know what to say, what comment would you say about that??" Tony reminded him the Garden State, and Trey, apparently not clearly hearing Tony responded, "the Garbage state?" he then said "New Jersey is for turn pikes i guess." #### Trey solo acoustic % With Dave Matthews.
