New Volunteer
db.etree is run by volunteers. We're always happy to have new volunteers join the team.
There are two wasy to volunteer, as a SetlistAdmin or as a SourceAdmin.
SetlistAdmins are responsible for keeping an artist's setlists up to date, correcting bad entries, removing duplicates and generally keeping the list of performances tidy. You can browse the show listings here, and pick any band, to see an example: http://db.etree.org/bs.php. A SetlistAdmin can take on any artist, trader friendly or not, since the artist's show listing just keeps track of what songs were played at each performance.
ShnAdmins do the same things as SetlistAdmins, as well as a few more tasks. ShnAdmins are responsible for entering information about lossless SHN/FLAC filesets for trader friendly artists -- the "source" information that appears here: http://db.etree.org/shncirc.
Although the users of db.etree often submit setlists and SHN/FLAC info to db.etree, ShowAdmins and SourceAdmins must be proactive. They need to get out there, visit sites like archive.org, bt.etree.org and other fan-based music sites, and find new setlists and sources for the database. It's not a full time job, but it takes some commitment -- a little bit each week. Nothing is worse than an admin who does nothing.
If you're interested in volunteering, please go on to the [Next Page SourceAdmin]. Or, contact the admin team [by e-mail].
