BobsBoots Review: http://bobsboots.com/CDs/cd-g35-R1.html The Gaslight tape is an absolute 'must have' to any serious collection. It has been available as a quasi-legitimate European LP for many years, in several different packages. In 2001, this Rattlesnake title was released with the complete 2nd and 3rd Gaslight tape. The tracks have been EQ'd to create a wonderfully quiet and crisp sounding version. The hand colored photos create a beautiful package.

All I Really Want To Do http://www.bobsboots.com/CDs/cd-l45.html Review: Despite all of its flaws, this is a nice CD to own. The appeal stems mainly from the fact that this was one of the first Boot CDs to hit the market. It was recorded from a very clean sounding vinyl LP called 'Newport'65'. The package and overall aesthetics are a joke, although the original drawing of Dylan on the front is very good. It's taken from a 1974 black and white photo by Fred McDarrah. Everything is direct from the soundboard, and considering the dates, amazing quality. The songs are listed out of order on the package. The true play order is shown above. There is also no mention on the package to the fact that a third of the famous 1964 'Halloween' show is included as filler. It was recorded from side three of a very clean copy of the LP 'All Hallows Eve And More'. The first of that show appeared several weeks earlier as 'Live in New York 1964'.

The Witch with a capital B next to me ratted me out to the MPs for taping (then later asked for a copy, go figure), yet somehow i got out of it because they didn't know i really wasn't allowed to tape. They pulled me aside for 20 seconds and then allowed me back to my seat. Lucky for me these particular MPs were uninformed. The walk, conversation, and walk back are left on the tape because I didn't know what I should do with it. It's kind of amusing. compipled by scott brown on 3-24-03

It is a fairly rare show with no know digital copies in existance, which is why I put the work into converting it. The sound isn't fantastic, but the hiss is definitely tolerable. To put this onto two 80 minute CDs, put tracks 1-3 from D2 onto the end of D1 and but D3 after D2 T4-9. But note, that D2 will be a little over 80 minutes so you will need to over burn to get D2 to fit. Compiled by Eric Naylor dmbtrade@hotmail.com 3/14/00

It moves flawlessly from one track to another but it sounds as if, at some time there might have been some editing done. Also the date of this show is quite possibly wrong. Dave asks the crowd if the saw the H.O.R.D.E. show that day. The H.O.R.D.E. did not have a show on the 23rd but did play at the Classic Amp. in Richmond on the 27th of July. However this is what DMBTA lists as the date and I don't want to confuse people by listing it as something else, especially when that date is concieveably correct. I believe Allen Chen might have already converted this show without the the intermission, but I never heard that version so I'll leave that up to the host. Andrew Any problems please email me. The actual line-up (in the order in which they appear in the concert programme) was .. Tony Banks Phil Collins Peter Gabriel Mike Rutherford Daryl Stuermer Chester Thompson Though Steve Hackett was not supposed to be there and was never billed, he did in fact arrive towards the end of the show and joined the band onstage for the final few numbers ! The band where never actually billed as Genesis at all - they assumed the name "Six Of The Best" for this show, and indeed a commercially available boot did come out under the title Six Of The Best. It was available on vinyl as a double album. Another commercial boot surfaced around the same time under the title "Peter Gabriel Sings" A third commercial boot - "GABACABRIEL" also exists. This FADE release is non of those and all of those - it is a remaster by the FADE group. FADE stands for 'fan approved definitive editions'. As far as I know it uses all 3 previous versions (and possibly some other source). Takes the best bits - remaster them then stitch it all back up so you can't tell - viola Although this is without doubt the best quality version of this show you are ever likely to find, it does have to be said that it's not that great. I would say it's one for the true fans. I know for a fact that one of the sources was at the back of the crowd for the first part of the show at least - he was standing about 10 feet from me ! You can clearly hear me and my cronies shouting for 'the knife' very loudly (shame on me) on this boot I can honestly say that no recording of this show that I have ever heard has done it justice - it was a truely monumental, mind-numbingly, awsomely staggering, life changing event. The band played so well it could make you cry with joy. Yes - Peter forgott some of the words, but it didn't matter - and when he climbed the big speaker stack and did his Rael bit on top of it (and nearly fell of) the place just blew !!! To finish the show with The Knife, now with steve hackett on stage and the lighting rig working to full effect in the dark october night sky was almost more than the poor fans could take! This was without doubt the greatest gig I ever had the pleasure and good fortune to see - and ever will. The only sad part is that this whole event was filmed and properly recorded with a full commercial release in mind (contrary to the notes on the back cover artwork - which are incorrect in this matter). All that footage and audio exists somewhere, but the last word I heard on the subject was that complicated copyright issues meant that it was unlikely to ever be released, or certainly not in the forseeable future. We live in hope .

Crippled Inside -- Give Peace a Chance -- Crippled Inside -- Uncle Albert (8.07) Tracks 1 to 4 is a jam that occured sometime between March to May 1974 at the Record Plant West or Burbank Studios in LA where Lennon was mixing and producing Harry Nilsson's new album Pussy Cats. It's the only recording that has surfaced of Paul and John making music together post-Beatles. The line-up is: Paul McCartney: vocals, drums Stevie Wonder: vocals, electric piano Harry Nilsson: vocals Jesse Ed Davis: guitar Bobby Keyes: saxophone It's nothing great musically, but is highlighted by Lennon coming close to losing it as nothing seems to be going right for him. Another interesting moment is Lennon offering Stevie a toot or a snort before the first track... The remaining tracks are from a jam October 9, 1971... the following is from 'This day in Beatles history': "Yoko Ono's art exhibit "This Is Not Here" opens at the Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse, New York, on John Lennon's birthday. The exhibit will run through October 27. The proceedings are filmed and are broadcast on US television on May 11, 1972, as "John and Yoko in Syracuse, New York". John and Yoko join with some members of the Onondaga Indian tribe who are protesting US government confiscation of their land for highway construction. A jam session in celebration of John's birthday comes together at a Syracuse hotel, with Ringo, Phil Spector, Klaus Voorman, Allen Ginsberg, Jim Keltner (and possibly Eric Clapton) taking part. John and Yoko are interviewed by a Japanese journalist, the interview becoming known as "the argument interview" due to the unusual amount of disagreement between John and Yoko." The interview is not present here.

This show was previously released on Psychedelic Explosion (TDOLZ). Graham's Superb Vol 1 has a few advantages over Psychedelic Explosion. Psychedelic Explosion's introductions are shorter, it has a small cut near the end of Dazed & Confused, there is more noticeable tape hiss and it runs 3-4% slower. The only thing that he said that was really interesting about this recording is that it was taped *outside* the venue. Even with that, it is IMHO, slightly better then the original source that is traded around and found on bootlegs. Originally this was in SHN for a tree on FBO with 2 other shows Burgess found, but since I still had those archived, I FLAC'ed them for space and tech reasons and those are being seeded. -- Saitoh

It's all down to personal opinion and preference ........... Certainly worth a listen even if just to compare with the more well known Deep Striker bootleg release - it's the usual set list (for the time), but it's a nice soundboard recording, well balanced and nice and clear. 01 The Song Remains The same 02 Sick Again 03 Nobody's Fault But Mine 04 Over The Hills And Far away 05 Since I've Been Loving You 06 No Quarter Disc Two: 07 Ten Years Gone 08 The Battle Of Evermore --> 09 Going To California 10 Going DOwn South 11 Black Country Woman 12 Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp 13 Dancing Days 14 White Summer / Black Mountainside 15 Kashmir 16 Trampled Underfoot Disc Three: 17 Out On The Tiles / Moby Dick 18 Guitar Solo 19 Achiles Last Stand 20 Stairway To Heaven 21 Whole Lotta Love 22 Rock N' Roll

To my ear, this sounds like a mix of board and audience mics. In particular, a pair of mics are bumped at 63:36 (disc 1) - note the voices and right-to-left scuffle. Also note at 8:27 (disc 2) somone says, "Chuck, watch the fence". This is probably one of the tapers. The board feed is much louder than the audience mics in the mix, so I can see why it may have been mislabeled so easily. Call it whatever you like - it sounds wonderful. Fixes: a few digital glitches removed- d1 16:06, 48:43, 63:54 it's almost 100% now. :) first 30 seconds of d1 was about -6dB on right - corrected. (not a perfect fix, but a bunch better.) The processes I took are as follows: 1) Amplified both discs 175% across the board. 2) Sampled a section of silence to obtain a decent noise floor sample (25,000 sample points used). 3) Applied this sample against both discs at 64 percent. 4) Applied a graphic equalizer to boost the high and low spectrums (specifically between 600 - 800 Hz and 8k & 10 kHz). ***Note: I cut everything above 11 kHz 18dB because nothing existed above that freq. range on the original recording. * If you have any additional question, please let me know: mikew@etree.org

Cale cover from the album "Naturally" (best known for the Eric Clapton version). #Set begins around 11:35 pm with Father Time on stage pedaling away at a stationary bike, powering a large clock, with the sound of the gears on the PA (possibly a Siket Disc track?). At approximately 11:50 pm, Father Time collapses from exhaustion and the clock stops. At this time, with appropriate sound effects, a large fan boat entered the field from halfway back, stage right. Soon the sides and top of the fan boat were blown off to reveal the band riding in the hot dog from 12-31-94. The hot dog approached the stage as the band threw leis and other goodies into the crowd. Once the hot dog reached the stage, the band disembarked carrying several meatsticks. They fed these to Father Time, reviving him to drive to clock to midnight. ^Instrumental version, with the band picking up the song from a pre-recorded version played during the hot dog ride. ^^With vocal jam, as Trey, Mike, and Page sang the notes as they played them. ^^^Recorded live for ABC's Millennium coverage; Trey instructed the crowd to chant the word "Cheesecake" after the song (instead of applauding), in an attempt to confuse TV viewers; Trey introduced the band for the recorded footage and offered a message of peace and harmony for the world ("The right lane is for driving. The left lane is for passing. So stay in the right lane unless you're passing."). ^^^^Preceded by "Meatstick" tease (possibly as Central Time hit midnight). %With "Cheesecake" vocal jam. %%Trey solo acoustic. %%%With Mike holding up a voice box, repeating the phrase "Quadrophonic Toppling." %%%%With Fish on vacuum; Fish introduced Page before the song, and Mike and Trey afterwards, and the band as "Phish 2000." $Preceded by a tease of the "Harry Hood" intro. $$No encore; post-show music was the Beatles' "Here Comes the Sun."

It was originaly circulated as Filler on the Dave Matthews Band show of the same date (10/31/92), but it is unknown if it is in fact part of that show in any way. The explaination that came with the show for a while was that this was a soundcheck jam performed by Tim, although it doesn't seem that likely considering the continuity and length of the performance. Furthermore, the sudden fade out after Big Blast of Hot Air is an indication that this could just be an incomplete full performance. Until any information about the show is cleared up though, the current date will be kept intact for referance.
