47. 01/19/72 Lion's Share - San Anselmo, CA   NEED TO CHECK MD5   1 SHN
48. 01/26/72 Symphony Hall - Boston, MA B I was fortunate to see Garcia/Wales play in NYC at the Academy of Music on this tour (they only played 2 shows,Boston and NYC, I believe). This is the only traded show that I've located. Garcia plays a supporting role in this band and Wales was a madman on the B3 as I remember. Innovative funk and space jamming - remember this was early '72. If you're looking for something different and interesting you might like this. Compared to the Hooterall album by this band (A rating), I rate this show a B. [7/1/2004]   2 SHN notes
49. 02/06/72 Pacific High Recording Studio - San Francisco, CA A- NEED TO CHECK MD5 MATCH - This has several interesting songs: "Masterpiece" sung by Jerry in '72 (compare Dead with Bobby singing). "Save Mother Earth" has lots of Garcia jamming riffs that you'll recognize. "That's Alright Mama" great rock 'n roll (too bad the Dead only played this a few times), "Who's Loving.." (Garcia sounds like Clapton playing blues). Sound quality good except bass is distorted in a few places. Flaws - diginois at d1t2 4:20, 4:49, 8:40. d1t8 ~8:40 [7/1/2004]   2 SHN notes

[2008-03-24]The info file contains an apt description of the show, " The show is more on the mellow, groovy side than on the fiery side, but I think you'll enjoy it." 77. 02/24/80 Gym (SUNY) - Stony Brook, NY B+ Unknown aud (haven't compared to others that circ to see if this can be id'd) [2008-03-03] This particular recording /show didn't strike me as a strong one - maybe it was the recording, as this era of JGB has a strong rep for good shows.   2 SHN notes

Note that the initial seed was flawed, with a cut in TUIB. This was quickly fixed, but not before numerous completed downloads. Hence we have listed both FLAWED and FIXED fingerprints under this shnid. [2009-04-20]Enjoyable I'd rank this average for 1981 - sound is good and crowd not too intrusive.   2 FLAC notes

86. 06/26/81 Warfield Theater - San Francisco, CA B+ ok sounding sbd of most of a show wherein Phil Lesh plays bass instead of John Kahn. There are probably better shows than this one, but its still enjoyable to hear once. Phil's presence doesn't add anything particularly noteworthy.   1 SHN notes

Edited and Mastered By Jamie Waddell on the GEMS Edit Station. [2008-03-03]As noted in the info file, vocals are LOW. Also, the recording seemed panned way to right - ultimately though FOB not on the repeat listen list because of the mix and other issues. ALso incomplete - performance didn't strike me as a strong one.   2 FLAC notes

[2009-10-08]I found this to be a rather lethargic performance - vocals are also low, as though maybe taped too close so the PA (which carried the vocals) wasn't picked up.   2 FLAC notes
