Media CDR   1 disc
Notes Jefferson Airplane

Quality: Very good SBD with the glitches listed below - not bad for 36 years! I think there are some great performances here and the flaws did not detract from my enjoyment. Remember folks, they are called bootlegs for a reason!

Lou's Notes:

JA Base has them playing in SF at the Fillmore Auditorium on 3-3-67 and 3-5-67. It also shows them in NYC at RCA Studio B on 3-7-67 at a recording session for Come Back Baby. Dave T's info below is probably more accurate so if they definitely didn't play the Fillmore Aud. on 3/3 through 3/5 1967, they could well have done this gig in NYC a few days before the recording session for Come Back Baby. Looks like they played the Fillmore and Winterland the following week in 1967 according to JA Base and Dave T.

Setlist is mostly from the first 2 albums and Come Back Baby shows up on Hot Tuna's second album, 1971's Electric. Surrealistic Pillow had just been released in February and After Bathing At Baxter's would be released in December.

Dave Tamarkin's Notes:

here's some more info to confuse this issue, taken from the bill
graham database and some other sources, including the various fillmore
poster books. JA didn't play the fillmore on these dates. i believe the
poster is referred to as BG53. this does make sense since it's pretty well
documented they were there on 3/10-12/67 at fillmore aud. and
winterland. the cafe au go go engagement is mentioned in my brother's
book but doesn't list exact dates :

3/3/67 Fillmore Aud
Otis Rush Chicago Blues Band
Mothers Of Invention
Morning Glory
3/4/67 Fillmore Aud
Otis Rush Chicago Blues Band
Mothers Of Invention
Morning Glory
3/5/67 Fillmore Aud
Otis Rush Chicago Blues Band
Mothers Of Invention
Morning Glory
Notes: 2pm Show
hope this helps,

Flaw details:

CD sync errors, mostly dropouts or skips, all on the master:

track 2, first couple seconds
track 9, 6:49
track 10, first couple seconds, also 0:42, 2:04
track 14, 1:56, 3:50, 4:00

I don't think these are as significant but are there to some extent. You may need headphones to hear them:

there are also a lot of single-sample clicks scattered
throughout the disc, but an unusually large number
during the last 3:00 of track 9 and the first 2:00 of
track 10. most of these are either in one channel or
the other, very high frequency
