J-Card Comment My first Dead show! I've had an audience copy for awhile, but am excited to hear a SBD. I didn't know many of the tunes during the show, but will never forget the experience. I was fifteen at the time, and our car broke down on the way home to Richmond. The next day at school was a long one, but I couldn't get that Satisfaction out of my head.

wow, this one really needed the cleaning up!!!

Solid '83 show, def. worth it for the second set...

Charlie, you've gone and done it again ! I got this from tol. earlier but I had to post to those of you who have not had the pleasure of hearing this one - I have never heard this show before. There are some HIGH nights on this Spring Tour and this is one of them. Sonically, its a damn fine board mix with everyone out front and prominent (Phil is killing the Slipknot ! -> Franklin's riiight now) This sounds really nice and warm with great clarity (ex. Greek SBD 's from 1984) Overall - a great performance for this period that is leading into Garcia's phase of 'overindulgence' (and spacing lyrics) but his playing is very 'sprite' this night and the boys are in HIGH gear .... rolll aw-wwwaaay, roooll a-waaaayy ... the dew .... check the sweet xylaphonic(?) calypso percussion in Franklin's Tower ........ SOMETIMES THE LIGHTS ALL SHININ' ON ME ......

Hey Charlie...I think something should be included in the notes section of this show. Listening to the soundboard at the backend of "Space" Bobby quietly but clearly does what by all accounts is the first "Bob Star." The compendium and all other reliable sources point to 4/15/83 as the first but I believe the record should be changed....this is something that could only be picked up on a board. JF

There's also a Mind Left Body tease at the end of Throwing Stones....cm
