sound - claims to be pre-fm. Notable for the first "matrix" mix that I know of where mics in the audience were mixed with the sbd to give you that "you are there" feel. However, there is distortion on much of the vocals that get in the way of listening to the show. Set 1 the boys seem much more on than the prior night. All the playing is more enthusiastic and fun to listen to. Dominated by short song renditions. Only performance of Muddy Water. Truckin' has the E72 style without a long extended jam. Dark Star played without vocals (1st time for this??), interleaved with Cowboy tunes. Best part was the transition into Sittin' On Top Of The World. NFA has the China Cat jam. Overall, an ok show but didn't strike me as a must listen even though it has the Dark Star. Just missing some special jam that would provide a reason to keep it in the cd player. It does have a few unique firsts that may deserve a listen for those interested in evolution of styles. |
