Notes One of the bands greatest shows of all time, the legendary "Bonzo's Birthday Party" performance.

Everyone in the group is playing exceptionally well, they're firing on all cylinders, but both Jimmy and Bonham are giving just a little bit more for the crowd.

Jimmy is doing some amazing guitar and solo work while playing with a broken finger, (Plant makes mention of this to the audience near the end of the show), and Bonham is probably playing better than usual because it is after all his "special day".

For those that may not know, there are 3 audience recordings of this show in circulation.

The tape source we've used to make this project is what I've always known to be the 2nd tape source, some collectors agree to this, and some list this source as the 3rd tape source.

This recording is very good, has very little to almost no tape hiss in the channels, and sounds like it was recorded very close to the stage, but it is unfortunately incomplete.

The tape isn't missing very much music, (the taper only missed "Communication Breakdown"), it's mostly missing the commentary between Plant and the audience, most likely the taper was trying to conserve as much tape as possible to record as much music as possible.

For this project, we decided to do what we did with our other Inglewood project "Heavy Vibraphones", offer collectors a straight raw transfer of the tape, and a remastered version of the tape.

The reason why the raw version is 3 discs worth of material, and the remastered version is just 2 discs is because the show was sent to this way.

All of the show (both raw and remastered) can fit on to 2 discs, it was indeed unescessary to burn the show on to 3 discs when it can all easily fit on to 2, but I'm offering collectors the raw recording in the original format in which I recieved it.

If you'd like to save yourself a disc, then please feel free to burn the raw version of the show on 2 discs, and in the same order as the remaster.

We hope that whoever picks this up will enjoy both versions.

What we've done to make the remaster:

- We've tried to balance the instruments as much as possible.

- We've tried to bring out things that were buried in the recording (cheers, clapping, commentary).

- We've tried to create a sense of acoustics, and a feeling of ambience in the recording.

- We've tried to reduce as much tape hiss as possible.

- We've split the show on to 2 discs instead of 3.
