| Notes: | This recording came to Tim in a trade in 1982 from someone who had access to the SBD master of this show. Circulating recordings probably originate with this cassette. This does not appear to be the whole show, but rather a condensed and probably edited version. Although there is a lot of music here, it doesn't all flow naturally, and there are abrupt transitions between pieces and disconnected bits of banter, which suggests the master recording was edited down to fit a 90 minute cassette. In addition, the tape was marked as "Acoustic Set" starting with Mediterranean Sundance, and then "Electric Set" stating with Solo on Wednesday, but this is not how the audio plays out. There was also a buzzing sound coming from the PA, which Larry Coryell comments on before Nuages. It was intermittent and inconsistent. Most of it has been removed by it still appears between songs and you may notice it elsewhere. It may have come from the vocal mic, because the banter is often so quiet as to be inaudible. At one point Coryell says that it is Charles Mingus's birthday, which was April 22, not 24, so it's possible that the date is off. Lastly, the levels throughout were inconsistent, and have been adjusted accordingly. These are all minor issues. This is a fine recording of a terrific performance! Enjoy! --mhg :: 2024-10-06 | |||||
