| Corey | cd-r / 1 | p* | View | ? - TAO "Good Samaritan Tour" | ||
| Notes: | TAO, but a joy to listen to for me, as John's my favorite. If you are looking for high quality John stuff, you dont want this, but if you're looking for rare, fun stuff, you might want this. This show is part of what is considered John's "Good Samaritan Tour." John "toured" several cities, mostly unannounced, showing up in downtown areas with an accordian player, a fiddle player, two or three mics, and very tiny amplifiers. This is an audience recording of one of those shows, sure to be rare. The quality is very poor, not at all what we are used to, but the whole idea behind this tour is so fantastic that it is just simply amazing to hear. Having attended one of these "shows" it is marvelous to know that any kind of recording at all exists of one of these shows. But you only need to appreciate Mellencamp and the premise and idea behind this tour to know how incredible this recording really is, despite it's poor quality. For, to me, it is quite golden. The "show" is TAO. setlist (still working on it) is as follows: 1. Small Town 2. The Oklahoma Hills 3. In my Time of Dying 4. Key West Intermezzo (I Saw You First) 5. All Along the Watchtower 6. The Spider and the Fly > ? (the yappy yappy dog song) 7. ? (Street Fighting Man?) > (skip?) ? 8. Cut Across Shorty 9. Little Pink Houses | |||||
