Lineage: Master analog cassette >standalone CDR >EAC (secure) >CoolEdit Pro 2.0 >FLAC Frontend (level 8, SBE OK) Notes: No audio treatment has been applied to this set, which came straight from Robert Collins's master. However, a long classical music (Mahler?) introduction over the PA was shortened significantly, as was almost two minutes of the audience clamoring fruitlessly for more at the very end. Set was also re-tracked using CD Wave.

It's been 20 years since I listened to this recording, and I didn't remember how incredible it really was. The set list is incredible and every musician is playing at the absolute top of their ability. This is a must-have recording for any Weather Report fan. The master recording is in great shape after all these years. The original master has the usual flaws: a little bit of wind noise, chair squeaks, an occasional cough, and people talking (it's the Hollywood Bows, and can be like a social event). iZotope RX4-Advanced comes to the rescue and helps fix as many of these flaws as possible. The only bad tape turn occurred on Birdland. But thanks again to modern software, Birdland has been put back together without a missing beat. Notes: Weather Report Memorial Concert Series This has been long overdue, and will still take a while to complete. I wanted to release all of my Weather Report, Wayne Shorter, and Jaco Pastorius recordings as part of a "Memorial" to Weather Report and its members. Some of these recordings were given to friends many years ago, but most have never had a proper mastering or released. So to most people, I think these will be completely new recordings. And when you see how many of them and how good the recording quality and show quality is, then you'll probably ask: WTF...why haven't these ever been released? Answer is simple: time. I knew releasing this many previously unreleased recordings was going to take a lot of time. Some people may have copies of these one or more generations down from the master. All of these will be coming to you directly from the master recordings.
