The video was taken from a 1st Gen copy of the master 2 camera mixdown and the audio was taken from the DAT master. I don't have much detail on the video itself, other than it was shot by two camera's. One on the upper balcony right rear of the venue. The other camera, which had better optics it seems, was shot from the left side of the stage, nearly perpendicular to the stage. The two camera mixdown was done on a Videonics MX-1 Digital Video Mixer. How do I know? Well during "Red Sector A" the video mixer screen pops up! There were quite a few cuts in the video with large portions of "Half the World" and "Red Barchetta" missing video footage. Since the audio used for this release came from a different source, the audio is completely without cuts and the video was re-sequenced to match. That makes this the most complete video of this show currently being traded. There are the usual spots in the video where it goes "black". But nothing that is truly distracting. As for the audio, this is a very good show, one of the above average sounding shows from the first leg of the tour. The instruments are clear and well represented with the guitar being just about right in the mix, for a change. The audience around the taper is quite polite for the majority of the show making it very listenable and enjoyable. Now for the particulars of the production. The audio was left as PCM 16bit / 48khz audio with no compression. Since the video was too long to fit on one DVDr anyway, it was decided to keep the sound quality as high as possible. The video was compressed using TMPGEnc with a 2 pass variable bit rate average of 5500 for both video's. The video itself was left unaltered except for the cut sections and the DR logo overlay. The video was then processed for NTSC D1 and "letterboxed" to fit traditional 4:3 DAR TV's. Sorry, too difficult and time consuming to do a PAL version. Our PAL friends can still play the DVD on their computers since there are no regional code settings on the production. I thank everyone that was involved in this first release. Many thanks go out to Brandt Ryan, Matt Smith and Ninja Dave for their part in this production.? As with all Digital Reproductions releases, these are not for sale. They are for free trade only so please do not sell or purchase this production. See the trading links and newsgroup for individuals that will freely trade this show. | |||||
