| Notes: | "This is an awesome collection of Pre-Everclear Art Alexakis Demos ranging from 1987 to 1991. The first 7 tracks come from his first band, Shakin' Brave, recorded in 1987. Shakin' Brave was a band out of LA. This version of Heartspark Dollarsign is extremely different than the Everclear version with completely different lyrics and alternate music. Art does an awesome rendition of Dead Flowers as well. Dog, Marryin' Kind, and Tattoos are really awesome punky songs while Eleanor Young is a beautiful ballad written about his mother. Eleanor Young is the best song he has ever written. Even Art admitted it in an interview. The next two songs are from his band Easy Hoes from 1989. They were a Cow Punk band leaning more towards a country sound. ? Gay Bar Song is an extremely catchy punk song about a guy catching his girlfriend at a gay bar. The last 8 songs are from his band Colorfinger which originally started out as a solo project in 1990. Colorfinger is another Cow Punk Band out of San Fransisco like the Easy Hoes. They also released a full length album entitled Deep In The Heart of The Beast in the Sun. Notice 2 quality and extremely original covers done by the band. Rocky Mountain High has a neat bass solo and I Fall to Pieces is a fun punky piece. The other songs are also extremely tight and I recommend finding the first album." - from colorfinger@drexel.edu | |||||
