| Notes: | My source claims this show occurred 08/03/1968, not 08/02/1968. Info file provides no specific recording details or lineage, but says, "This is a fairly good true stereo audience recording of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, August 3, 1968, in Dallas, TX. It sounds like the taper had a pretty good recorder for the time, but it was overwhelmed by the volume. The highlight is the very rarely played Traffic cover which opens the show. There are multiple versions of this recording making the rounds. This one is from a trade CDR which was marked as 2nd generation, pitch corrected. Total time is 60:35 and the pitch sounds about right to me. Ripped from CDR using foobar2000 paranoid mode, tagging via foobar2000 as well. Presented in FLAC 1.3.0. Includes my primitive generic artwork in PDF." | |||||

| Notes: | My original fileset - SHNs with the lineage as being "Lineage: Master > Cassette x2 > CDR > Soundstudio > Shorten > SHN" - had tiny silent gaps at the start of a couple tracks. I'm providing an image of the gap on Track 02. Using Trader's Little Helper, I decoded the SHNs to WAVs. Using Adobe Audition, I assembled the WAVs into proper order (1:04:15 in length), then edited the little buggers out. The beginning of Track 8 had about one-half second of repeating audio which I snipped away. Who's to say there isn't any further such bugs in this recording? I listened to it pretty well but could've missed something. I then amplified the entire WAV +5db. No other changes were made to the audio. No EQ. No nothin'. I just made it louder (without distorting in the red at any time, obviously). The whole 64:14 recording was then split using CD Wave Editor. Encoded to FLAC using Trader's Little Helper. | |||||
