Notes: The Bon Scott Collection: 3CD Hello hello.... I thought about doing this set for quite some time and from start to finish took about 3 months. I was going to upload it on Feb 19th….to coincide with Bon Scott’s passing 27 years ago. However, to celebrate Bon’s contribution to music, you need to have the torrent not be in the process of downloading it. So here it is today….so when you get it, play it loud on Feb 19th! I listened to each Pro recorded show that I had in my possession and selected the best version from each show and completed this list. I then remastered, bit by bit, to bring out the best in each song. Too much was done to list here...but have a listen to what you have and then listen to this. A special thank you to “Hard2handell” as most of these were shared by him. I grabbed them all and made this 3 Disc set. None of this is from MP3, nothing lossless. BONUS 1980.01.25 – Let There Be Rock – Newcastle, UK – Mayfair (the last song from the last surfaced show of Bon Scott with AC/DC) Here are some observations: 1. I was going to use “Dog Eat Dog” from 1978.04.30 Glasgow, but apparently that was issued as a b-side so I had to use the only other PRO source, which was Columbus 1978.09.10. Too bad as I preferred the Glasgow version. 2. I was going to use “TNT” and “Rocker” from 1977.10.27 Hippodrome, but apparently that was released in Japan officially. So that was out. Too bad as “Rocker” is great at this show…..like no other. I cannot find TNT on any other Pro source. So I took 1979.12.03, which is not bad. The version of “Rocker” here is from Colchester University and the intro that states “Thank You Peter…” is actually in reference to the host of the show, Rock Goes To College (which is where Whole Lotta Rosie comes from the Family Jewels DVD). The host was speaking and talking to the camera as the song started and so Bon says “Thank you Peter”. 3. A couple songs from 1977.01.30 Triple J broadcast end abruptly, with a quick fadeout. This was part of the broadcast apparently. However, since these versions are great, I kept them in this torrent. Also, there is a small edit at the beginning of “The Jack” as I removed the announcer warning about “strong language”. No joking. I then took an inferior source for the same show and edited it back in, with no announcer. In addition, this song is actually from two sources. I took the beginning of 1977.01.30 and spliced it with 1979.07.13 as the ending I thought was better. If you don’t like it, that’s too bad…but I do. This Triple J broadcast is my favorite Bon show…along with 1979.11.02 and 1978.09.10. 4. All known Pro recorded shows were used to select these versions. However, there is one Dallas show from 1977 that has not surfaced so I could not use it. Nothing in this torrent has been officially released to the best of my knowledge. 5. I did not do any artwork…but please someone do some…something awesome! Enjoy and long live Bon…! Lambchops
