Notes: The Guitar Trio John McLauglin/Al DiMeola & Paco De Lucia Cirque Royal Audi Jazz Festival Brussles, Belgium October 23rd, 1996 NTSC DVD - Duration: approx 1 hr 47 mins Video: NTSC 720x480 resolution Audio: Dolby Digital AC3 2 ch Lineage: TV Broadcast -> 2nd (or maybe 1st) Gen PAL VHS Tape to me from the owner -> NTSC VHS Tape conversion using AIWA MX 100 Hi-Fi VCR -> DVD+RW (Rec: Phillips DVDR985, Play: JVC HM-DH30000U D-VHS HDTV VCR with Component(yes!) outputs fed to the DVD Recorder. Digital R3 Picture System enabled to reduce noise and stablize picture) -> Extract to Hard Disk, ReAuthor using Tmpg DVD Author 1.6 Was making a disc of this show for a friend who has asked for it and felt, well, why not share it with my like minded friends at EZT who might enjoy this. I personally never quite felt that strongly about the Gtr Trio as I feel for other bands that John was a part of, but this particular show does catch my attention and I love how the trio plays with each other. Somehow there is more maturity in the playing than I feel from the 1980 shows, but maybe thats just me! I esp. love John's playing on the first 5 minutes with his solo performance. BTW, This show was broadcast in two parts and both are included here. Anyhow 'nuff babbling - this one is dedicated to all you guitar players out there! The usual rules apply - Please do not sell or profit from this DVD! Enjoy! Rajiv http://www.remembershakti.com NOTE: You will notice that there is a PAL to NTSC conversion step which in hindsight is a pity, but back then I did not have a DVD recorder and so I had to take the PAL tape and make a copy for myself and I lacked 2 PAL VCR's or else the conversion loss may have been reduced Chapter break excuse: Once again, adding chapter points at the right locations was a pain for many reasons, but mainly because I got lazy. For now, I simply added a chapter point every 5 minutes.

Notes: The Guitar Trio is John McLauglin, Al DiMeola & Paco De Lucia, three very awesome guitarists!! This is a very sweet show with great emotions and feeling flowing between the three musicians. John opens with five minutes or so of solo stuff that makes your jaw drop and gets you ready for the insanity that is to come! One by one the rest of the trio join in and soon it is a blur of fingers and smoke on the frets as these masters try and outdo each other in speed and dexterity. Just awesome stuff. A must for all guitar lovers. Pro-shot TV broadcast in two parts on one disc. Thanks so much for the bomb Andy!! I am so underserving.
