Notes: The first of three hometown shows to end the long and arduous Monster tour. The setlist followed the structure of the rest of the October/November shows with three new songs scheduled early in the set, with Losing My Religion sandwiched inbetween to reward the patience of fans. I really wish they'd played Binky The Doormat after this tour, it's a long lost gem. This was also only the third ever performance of Find The River. Amanda Brown's contribution on violin really helped the songs she played on as well, including that one. And to celebrate her 30th birthday the day before she got a very heartfelt happy birthday sung to her by the band and the crowd. Bill's encore choice at this show was the Fleetwood Mac classic Tusk which brought back memories of 1984, and Michael also threw in some Ghost Rider for good measure. A great first show. Recording notes: No two ways about it, this is a superb soundboard recording. The original notes thanked "Old Man" Hurby for sharing these to celebrate the band being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It had always intrigued me how these recordings got into circulation. The band held onto their soundboard recordings very tightly so it had to be someone with some good connections. I've heard various stories, perhaps the most credible is that the tapes originally came from Todd Ploharski of Athens record store Low Yo Yo records. If it was him, thanks Todd. I've given the recording a touch up in iZotope, nothing major, but it was overly loud and needed some finessing to make it sound a little nicer. I also edited out the CD break so it's now a seamless recording. If you still burn to CD in 2020, sorry. This and the other 2 Atlanta shows are the best sounding recordings of the tour. We're lucky to have them.
