Notes: Another cool R.E.M. show from my remaster collection. This one is labelled as a soundboard in the original info file but my belief is that itÕs actually an IEM recording (MichaelÕs in fact). There are a few clues in there about that, namely the way the vocal level is very high in the mix during the initial few songs of the set. At other times the vocals then meld into the mix, usually during songs where IÕve noted that Stipe takes out his IEMÕs and uses the stage monitors more exclusively. Like my first remaster of the Irvine 99 show, IÕve implemented various binaural panning techniques, impulse response technology along with some corrective EQ to provide what I believe to be a nice upgrade. The listening experience should now feel a lot more immersive and those listening on headphones should experience an almost surround sound feel. For anyone else listening on a different format you will hopefully experience a more spacious sounding mix. Soundboard/IEM mixes often sound very flat and very Ôup-frontÕ with no real depth of field when it comes to the sound. this remaster series hopes to rectify that.
