| Notes: | Daniel Johnston 2/4/90 WFMU-FM East Orange NJ off air recording on BASF Chrome Extra II Cassette>Playback: Onkyo TA-201>Sound Studio>AIFF>xACT>FLAC My brother gave me this cassette about 6 years ago. It was his master recording of Daniel Johnston's phone in appearance on WFMU's Music Faucet program. One part of this broadcast has been released as a vinyl single and on Yo La Tengo's Genius+Love album. I thought I could probably sneak it past the Moderators, but decided to be a good boy. I split the tracks so you can insert the track yourself if you wish from one of the commercially available sources. When listening to the recording on Yo La Tengo's album I noticed it sounded a bit faster, evident in the register of the DJs voice. I toyed with raising the pitch of the whole set to match it (+2% sounded about right) but since I don't have perfect pitch I decided to leave it alone. I've been used to the way the cassette sounded and who knows maybe those sly Hobokeners speed up the tape for their release. It sounds fine and natural to me anyway. And dare I say Yo La Tengo's release has more hiss than the untouched tape I present here. There is also a tape flip between tracks 14 and 15 losing perhaps a second or 2. I had to make up some titles and did split the set up into maybe a few more tracks than some may care for, but the way I did it makes sense to me. Sorry if I got any titles wrong and I had to make a few up myself. Hope you enjoy!!! 1-lead-in 2-WFMU 3-opening song (Keep Punching Joe) 4-A Lonely Song 5-"call-in" 6-Spinning Globe 7-talk 8-Speeding Motorcycle w/ Yo La Tengno (NOT INCLUDED.
