Notes: West Germany, September 18, 1970 1995 A VINYL GANG PRODUCT Label: VGP-049 * Live At Empire Pool, Wembley, April 26, 1964 NME Poll-Winners Concert Lineage: Original silver CD > scottkeef's wave cd-r > dBpowerAMP > FLAC-Level 5 There are only a handful of good recordings of the Rolling Stones' short tour of Europe in the fall of 1970. This is one of them. I'd rate it as VG to VG+ audience. This was the day Jimi Hendrix died, and Brown Sugar is briefly dedicated to him. Since the performance is pretty short, Vinyl Gang added some filler from an earlier era, the 1964 New Musical Express Pollwinners concert.

Notes: "Cologne 1970"; Brown Sugar is dedicated to Jimi Hendrix who died earlier in the day. Sound quality is sub-par and I'm in desperate need of an updgraded version of this show

Notes: I was very pleased when I heard this bootleg -- a very strong recording from 1970. It's not perfect by any stretch, but the main flaw is that it's not the complete concert. There is some bonus material from the 1964 NME Poll-Winners concert, which is very fun.

Review by: gsparaco On 07 Apr 2004 at 05:32 CET This probably is the best audience recording from this tour, but it is still only fair to good at best. It is enjoyable though. Dead Flowers is particularly good in this show, being it was newly added to the set. Mick pays a short tribute to Jimi Hendrix (who died that day) by dedicating Brown Sugar to him. Hombre's notes.... I find it odd that VGP put in bonas tracks from Wembley '64, perhaps to give the cd more matteral.. I've heard far worst shows from later dates..Might be worth your time grabbing... 18 Sep 1970 1.
