Opening for Eddie from Ohio. This performer is simply one of the best solo-acoustic artists I've ever heard. First heard him on NPR
on a Prarie Hom Companion &, honestly, almost cried when I heard him play "By Face, Not Name". At this
show, he introduced this song in a discussion of the Right-To-Life Movement & the basic stupidity of men,
which was quite accurate. In the tune, he dons the mask of a young woman who is telling the story of how she
was walking home one night, accepted a ride from a man & was raped by the man & is now pregnant. Very
intense, intriguing & rather amazing for a band let alone a solo artist. Pretty sure that his performances are
rather poignant, beautiful & are different from place-to-place, mood-to-mood. Talked to the sound-technician,
think she was Jeff Lang's love, & she said that he never uses setlists, he plays what he wants from each show
to the next. The guitar work Mr. Lang performs is simply amazing, the broad styles intertwine into an unique
creation that, I assume, is impossible to replicate. He changed guitars 3x, changed styles 3x as well.
Unfortunately, I was having some pretty serious issues with my MD so I missed half of "I Still See You", all of
"Release, Big Feeling, Danville Girl" but got the rest. Simply cannot wait to see this master of his instruments &
style perform again. Trust me, trust me, check this guy out - his show will not dissappoint.
