| Notes: | Diamanda Galas - Vocals, Organ, Piano John Paul Jones - Bass, Lap Steel Guitar Denny Fongheiser - Drums OK, this one is not for everyone. Diamanda Galas' howling and shrieking is sure to turn some folks off, and if not the subject matter of the songs will scare others away. But taken as a whole I really like this show, though it's hard to decide how to classify it. The format of the show and the crowd definitely made it feel like a rock show, albeit one with an 8-octave vocalist singing middle eastern spells, R&B ballads, blues and some completely undescribable stuff. If pressed to describe it in one word, it would be HEAVY. I did a little bit of cleanup to the master DAT in Pro Tools--evened out levels, applied a little Hi-Shelf EQ to add definition, added fades--otherwise it's exactly as I heard it that night. But if you still hate it, don't say I didn't warn you. | |||||
