| Notes: | Audience recording of one of Japan's top psychedelic exports (along with AMT, High Rise, Overhang Party, etc.) playing quite a varied type of progressive psych. Fans of Gong, Amon Duül II, and the like may hear inlings of those bands, but Ghost tie things together in a unique, comprehensive package that incorporates Japanese folk sounds as well as West Coast, UK, and Krautrock influences. The acoustics & sound system at the Independent are top-notch, in a marked contrast to its former incarnation as the Kennel Club, so this is probably about as good a minidisc recording as possible. The band's extreme (at times) dynamics are clearly audible throughout. The only flaw is that the very last note/chord of the show is partially cut off (literally no more than 2 seconds of music), as the minidisc ran out at that point (damn!). This was really a mind-blowing show ... | |||||
