VHS tape from in-house pro-shot source > Sony WV-DR7 > Sony DVMC-DA2 Media Converter > Apple Macintosh Final Cut Pro (minor "nip and tuck" edits, filter to replace bottom of screen "head switch jitter" with black and chaptering) > Compressor > DVD Studio Pro (menu and authoring) > VIDEO_TS file set. Primary audio source: unknown lineage SBD from Flac Dime torrent > Pro Tools (sync to video audio source, manual static cleanup with some short splices of audio track from the VHS tape and normalization). Audio placed back into Final Cut Pro before Compressor down-sampling. Video: NTSC 720x480 VBR 7.7 Mbps peak, 6.2 Mbps average data rate, 2-pass. Audio: Dolby Digital 2/0 (L,R), 48 kHz sample rate, 448 kbps data rate . info about this show from a web search: "This two day concert was a benefit for the Traditional Circle Of Elders and Youth and was in 'celebration' of 500 years of resistance the native folks have been living since Columbus landed on our continent in 1492." The two VHS tapes that I have are all from just one of the two days, and also contains the full set by - Mickey Hart and Friends (54:06) plus partial sets by: - John Trudell (36:39) - John Lee Hooker and Ry Cooder (25:23) - Steve Miller Band with Norton Buffalo (14:40) To maintain maximum quality (allowing for PCM audio as well as AC3 for all but the Santana set), I have split this content into 5 DVD torrents which will all be posted after each one seeds. There is also approximately 10 minutes by Indian Chief Oren Lyons (Faithkeeper Onondaga Nation) backed by Bonnie Raitt and others, which was included at the end of the Steve Miller Band DVD. It should be noted that the audio had some problems throughout the show, but it was mostly repairable except for this Santana set. I am happy to say that a fellow Dime member had an alternate Sbd source for this set which is a vast improvement over the audio on the VHS tape. It's a much better mix and although it had quite a bit of static throughout, it was only noticeable during quiet spots and it could mostly be manually, seamlessly repaired. In some cases a few seconds were spliced in from the VHS audio in places where the mix was similar but without the static. Some minor audio problem spots remain, but nothing that will get in the way of a very satisfying viewing and listening experience. The additions of Ry Cooder, Steve Miller and Norton Buffalo make this a very unique performance. I hope you all enjoy it as much as Carlos seems to from his reactions to the guests playing.
