Notes: Pro-shot DVD. As one of the most traditional pop bands of the new wave, Squeeze provided one of the links between classic British guitar pop and post-punk. Inspired heavily by the Beatles and the Kinks, Squeeze was the vehicle for the songwriting of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, who were hailed as the heirs to Lennon and McCartney's throne during their heyday in the early '80s. This show provides an excellent example of an East Side Story era show. The 1981 album "East Side Story" was to be the Squeeze's answer to The Beatles Sgt Pepper and to this day remains the group's creative pinnacle, featuring Paul Carrack on lead vocal duties on the single "Tempted," their best-remembered hit. The line-up for this show is: Glenn Tilbrook (Guitar, vocals), Chris Difford (Guitar, Vocals), Gilson Lavis (Drums), John Bentley (Bass, Vocals), and Paul Carrack (Keyboards, Vocals). Setlist is a veritable greatest hits.
