Notes: Story: some details about the recording itself. it begins with the last chords of "The Holy Hour" unfortunately..."at night" intro miss few seconds probably cause of the A/B cassette flip. Now i have a new theory about the source of this recording. I got this in a trade with someone living in England who also taped The Cure several times in the early 80's... Just to remind that this cassette was very often mislabelled as "karlsruhe 81". that's only because you find a low gen tape like this you can be sure of the date i suppose...My friend got that tape in July 1981 to this guy from Arnheim (PVG) so he and i always thought this guy was the actual taper...it now doesn't seem that clear anymore....What struggled me the first with that recording is that it has the same excellent dynamic than the very famous Joy Division Bootleg Eindhoven 1980 that we know for sure was recorded by Carlos V.H. with a sony elcaset (el-d8 model for the purists). My friend got both those excellent recordings straight from this same arnheim guy....So who is the taper for the cure ?? is that CVH or PVG ??? we'll never know until Carlos told us...So at least one can imagine the generation of this tape goes like this: sony eclaset eld8 + unknown mics (the JD was made with 2) > reel > tape > my friend tape > mine > wav conv...I don't think they would have made direct transfers of the reel but safety analog copies instead... so my tape is probably more a 3d gen copy... if you see someone saying he has a AU1 copy of that show just look at him and smile...
