dinner show
Here's an unusual show...Elvis was sick, his voice not up to par. After only seven songs, he leaves the stage and the Stamps sing a few tunes. Charlie Hodge plays emcee during this, you can hear him trying to kill time. After the fourth gospel number, Charlie asks, "You wann hear them do one more?" and the response is less-than-overwhelming. Kinda funny. Anyway Elvis comes back to close the show, but changes his mind. Sick as he was, he felt like he had to give the audience more. Plus, he gives us a few rarities - Faded Love and I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry.
