Broadcast live on WXPN-FM (88.5)
+ New song
* (Don Henley cover)
** (Cyndi Lauper cover, co-written by keyboardist Rob Hyman)
*** (Joan Osborne cover, written by guitarist Eric Bazilian)
Many of us fondly remember the day when FM broadcasts by The Hooters in Philadelphia were a common thing. Heck, many of us fondly remember when PERFORMANCES by The Hooters in Philadelphia were a common thing. While they've consistently toured Europe over the past few years, their last major appearance in Philadelphia was "opening" for Chuck Berry at Penn's Landing on Memorial Day Weekend. (I think anybody who was there would agree that Chuck Berry, legend that he is, was easily blown off the stage by The Hooters.)
This show was a benefit for the Alex's Lemonade Stand charity (make a donation today, won't you?), so tickets were $150. From the sound of it, it was worth every penny. The show features four new songs, along with three covers (two of which were written by members of the band).
