| Notes: | Yes played 2 shows at the Spectrum that day in Philly; the afternoon gig was caught on tape. (Man, two shows in one day of CTTE/Tales material?? - Tiring, wouldn't you say?) Perhaps because of this fact, both The Remembering and The Ancient were dropped from this show. The sound: the usual hiss, typical of most of these Tales shows, is present. And the mix on this one is, for the most part, very bad. I'm not sure what the sound engineers were thinking (or smoking) that day, because I don't think this was entirely the fault of bad recording equipment. In some parts, yes, but others it's obvious the sound was just crap that day. CTTE, RSOG + Ritual are all fine. But the most remarkable thing about this performance (and the reason why you simply -must- have this show) is a song they encore with (and normally didn't on this tour): Yours is No Disgrace. I have never heard a more creative, improv'd, furious rendition of this song than what was played on that afternoon: particularly Howe and Squire. Howe takes charge and guides this song into madness. It is beautiful. | |||||
