Notes: OK, what we have here is an early recording of the Gourds. In fact it seems it might be one of the earliest in circulation. There are 2 bad things about it. One, the taper didn?t stay to the bitter end, and two, he was sitting so close to the band that Kevin?s vocals which are going through the PA, are a bit hard to hear. The band is in your face close. They aren?t recorded so much from the PA, but from their amps on stage. Jimmy?s vocals don?t have Kevin?s problem. They have the opposite. They are so strong sometimes they over modulate. I have done nothing to the master, but clone it. This is a great early show with a lot of covers, that I admit I might not have the correct titles for, even some of the Gourds songs fall in that category. Sorry. Hear a very early attempt at Gin and Juice. Not the crowd favorite it has become. Not even sure most of those in attendance knew what it was. Also hear the Spinal Tap moment in set two. Even though the taper left early, this is still over 2 hours long, and the sound is great. Set one is complete. Enjoy.
