** Guest: Jimmie Vaughan - guitar on “Cold Shot”, "Things That I Used To Do" and “Couldn’t Stand The Weather”

Originally thought to be a Soap Creek Saloon show.
It now looks like this is the night after the Soap Creek performance and the best guess from the locals folks here in Austin is that this was at the Austin Opera House

Notes: Fresh from a successful European tour and hot off a two weeks vacation, The band perfomed at Soap Creek Saloon on the 14th as a rehearsal for this gig. The hope was to possibly create a live album here on the 15th. A litany of techincal problems from buzzing amps to Stevie's vocal mic not working until well into the second verse of "Voodoo Chile" doomed the idea of a release. But the playing on this recording is some of the most inspired on SRV's career. Listen for yourself. This show, warts and all is one of the best ever.
