Notes: This recording documents one of the stops on the '81 "Eight Appearances" tour of the U.K. This was a request. Although the sound quality isn't the best, it is notable for the setlist they were playing - pre-"Pornography" versions of some songs like the figurehead, and the hanging garden, as well as some more. The setlist order was also unique for this period. If you listen to the hanging garden, the drum part we're used to hearing isn't there yet, Lol simply accents on the toms here and there. It's almost like it's a Rob and Simon show! One hundred years sounds like a train at the beginning, you'll hear what I mean. Splintered in her head has a nifty little Robert harmonica solo in the beginning! Dig that! During faith, a few minutes in you'll start hearing a buzz that gradually gets louder throughout the song. I'm guessing that was the P.A.? The cure-concerts site says that other sources for this show list these as the final songs played this night a forest, forever, the figurehead This was probably sourced from a genned out cassette. Right off there are problems, which fortunately get better, as does the sound. Some occasional talkers near the recorder, but nothing too bad. This is probably njot going to be on your "Top 10 of All Time" list. I'm glad this was requested, I don't know that it's really been spread around too much yet.
