Notes: Remastering notes: Pitch-adjustment: slowed by 5.8 percent (minus one semitone minus four cents), level changes smoothed out some, many minor dropouts seamlessly removed, retracked with main set on disc one and the encores on disc two. The pitch problem was apparently in the original source tape since 4 different available cassette sources were off pitch by a similar percentage. Despite the fact that pitch-adjustment is by nature a rather imprecise process, this recording was off by a LOT so I thought that an adjustment was definitely necessary to listen to it at all. Every available track was previewed in its released form to determine the keys that they should be in. Then a pitch-adjustment was settled on that adjusted all of the previewed tracks in the show to the correct keys and to a point where they all sounded "in tune by ear". An electronic keyboard with a pitch-bend wheel was used for reference to help in determining the closest possible tuning. When the pitch is close to perfect very minor adjustments will put music out of tune, and it is not terribly difficult to find a point where everything sounds correct. And if you can get 15 or 20 tracks to all sound correct after a pitch-adjustment it is certainly close enough to perfect considering the limitations of human hearing. So I hope you can hear the improvements - enjoy & share! grner1
