Notes: CAKE are: John McCrea (Acoustic Guitar, Vocals), Xan McCurdy (Electric Guitar), Gabe Nelson (Bass Guitar), Vince DiFiore (Trumpet, Keyboards, Percussion), and Paolo Baldi (Drums, Percussion). This San Francisco concert was broadcast as a free-for-view on DirecTV in November of 2004. It must be said that this concert absolutely rocks! The band was in fine form and the crowd was really into the show. According to reports, John claims that this is the longest show they will ever do since they are taping a special and want to get everything just right. The band is on fire and play with great energy. Xan really is an impressive guitar player and Vince and Gabe are brilliant as usual. The whole band is incredibly tight and powerful. Stand out tracks include Carbon Monoxide, Stickshifts & Safetybelts, and of course, I Will Survive, the closer to the show. Unfortunately, Directv only needed an hour of material so they cut several of the songs so this is not the complete show. Short interviews with band members are sprinkled throughout the show, between songs. If you like CAKE at all, you will absolutely love this show! Pro-shot with chapters and menus. A fantastic "Slick Music Product". Thanks Graham!
