| Notes: | From Dimeadozen : *a PT Tapers release* This gig was recorded from the german FTA (free to air) TV channels MTV and WDR both on the satellite Astra1. Both video and audio streams were not reencoded as they were extracted from the broadcasting TS so there couldn't be better quality. The resolution is invalid for DVD standards (720/704*576) on the MTV part but pretty much all standalone DVD players will do the job. To make it valid, reencoding would be necessary and that would downgrade the video quality. The WDR part has valid resolution, 16:9 ratio and MUCH better quality. AUDIO: MPEG1 Layer2 (MP2) 192 kbit/s 48KHz * MPEG1 Layer2 (MP2) 256 kbit/s 48KHz VIDEO: MPEG2, 16:9 (non-anamorphic), 528x576, 25fps, ~6000Kbps * MPEG2, 16:9 (anamorphic), 720*576, 25FPS, ~8000Kbps LINEAGE: MTV Central / WDR (Astra1 19.2°E) -> Skystar2 -> AltDVB (PID Recorder) -> TS -> Cuttermaran 1.66 -> DVDMAESTRO | |||||

| Notes: | This is the the FRANZ FERDINAND-live-show from Rock am Ring, taken from MTV Central. It's the complete show Processing way: - HDD-Recording in XP-Mode (> 10 MBit) of the DVB-S-broadcast (Astra-Satellite, digital) - Put to DVD with some additional stuff (moderator-comments) Quality: - The bitrate of the original stream is unknown. My recording was done with the highest possible bitrate. Together with the additional stuff it was burned then to a single-layer-DVD (4.7GB), it is very near to XP-Quality, for sure above SP-Quality. If further questions regarding picture quality, pls. have a look to the screenshots I will attach later. - The sound of the DVD is encoded in Dolby Digital 2.0 / 384k - DVD is in PAL-standard, picture is interlaced Content: - 4 chapter: a) An intro-interview with Nick McCarthy and Paul Thompson about their upcoming concert, RAR in general (3:32) b) Another intro I called "Who Is FF?" from MTV introducing the band itself (2:17) c) the whole concert (63:30 minutes) d) An outro with Alex Kapranos and Paul Thompson about impressions after their concert, a smalltalk about TAKE ME OUT and this clip again (nice to see their reaction when they're watching themself on stage), some further discussion about scotch whiskey, the "secret" of their clothes, the headliners Depeche Mode (including some additional comments from some other artists from RAR like Jimmy Pop and the Bloodhound Gang, Nelly Furtado, Sportfreunde Stiller, Bullet For My Valentine), finally then something about Nick "McCarthief". Please have a look what Paul is doing with the mike during the interview, he's really a drummer...(16:00) The DVD contains a small menu, it pops up only if you press "MENU" on your remote control. Tracklisting: 01. This Boy 02. Come On Home 03. Auf Achse 04. Do You Want To? 05. I'm Your Villain 06. Walk Away 07. Take Me Out 08. The Fallen 09. Darts Of Pleasure 10. The Dark Of The Matinée 11. 40' 12. Michael 13. Jacqueline 14. Outsiders 15. This Fire The titeling of the songs made by MTV was sometimes wrong I think (I am sure it was on track 10, which was described as "Michael". I tried to correct the list by myself, hope it's correct in this way now. So I think I made a nice package for you, enjoy another brilliant RAR2006-show. If there is something wrong or not correctly written here, if you have questions, feel free to post a comment. Yours, BlueVision | |||||
