Two months after this concert fate struck.
On July 15. 1973 (or 14, others state), after a performance in Palmdale whilst Clarence and Roland were loading the van, a drunk driver smashed into them.
Clarence died immediately, Roland was severely injured with a dislocated shoulder. Roland is still alive - Check out http://www.rolandwhite.com/
