Comment
Dennis played with his band accompanied by an approximately 30-piece orchestra. This is the show that he did for his PBS special, which is available on DVD (if you're a DDY fan get it, you won't be disappointed!) The orchestra is front and center at many points--during the instrumental overture of Styx tunes and during several songs that have additional classical excerpts cleverly appended. Also, you can hear orchestra parts here and there throughout the set, e.g. during Castle Walls. Dennis also gives guest spots to two very talented vocalists who sing selections from his musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The venue was Philadelphia's premier concert hall, where the Philadelphia Orchestra plays.
Dennis sang an acapella version of Show Me The Way with his backup singers. The man has an UNBELIEVABLE voice that has only deepened and mellowed with time. His vocal abilities really shine on Show Me The Way.
