| Notes: | Good Audience tape of a recent, very good Eric concert. I was amazed at the quality of the sound--not quite the level of his Japanese recordings, but very listenable. | |||||

| Notes: | Schoeps MK4 caps> active cables> N box> Sound Devices 722 Digital Audio Recorder > Unknown transfer to CDR > EAC > Sound Forge (excessive clipping noted) > Processing with Sound Forge Noise Reduction 2.0 as follows: Cut level 3 to 5 db, run Click/Crackle single pass (settings: 10/8/3.0/Low/Yes=remove low frequency rumble), verify no clips, listen for audible distortion, smooth jagged peaks one by one in audible distortion segments (-3 smooth), also brought down audience noise levels where appropriate. There is a short edit from another (inferior) DAT source in the first bars of "Tell The Truth" to cut out a screamer close to the mics. The quieter acoustic songs did not require the processing notated above. You can thus make your own comparisons between the unclipped quiet songs and the louder tracks, all of which were clipped. Layla, Cocaine & Crossroads were the worst. Mastering by K2. Recording by J. | |||||
