NOTE: The DVD, "Have You Heard: Jim Croce Live", features Croce's television performances on the BBC's Old Grey Whistle Test and Don Kirshner's Rock Concert, as well as family photos and commentary from contemporaries such as Kenny Loggins and Randy Newman. Please note that the material in this torrent is from January 1973 for the In Concert broadcast, whereas the Kirshner broadcasts didn't start until Sept. 1, 1973. http://www.rollingstone.com/artists/jimcroce/articles/story/5936071/croces_lost_recordings_due ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ABC-TV "In Concert" FM SIMULCASTS: - The In Concert series ran every other Friday night on ABC-TV affiliates, with an audio simulcast on ABC radio stations. Each show ran from 11:30PM-1:00AM, with 75 minutes of music. Bands included the obscure, the awful, and the amazing. I taped all of these shows (all 53 of them, from 1972-75); I only taped bands that appealed to me, so this will not be the complete run. -although all were FM, the technology was primitive, both on my side and on the network side. There were level irregularites, FM noise and compression, abusive commercial interruptions, etc. -all of these segments, from one song to complete full shows, are as broadcast, and they are being shared with you with no alterations or changes from my original tapes. -so far, this series for the most part remains unreleased, both on video and audio. Also, some bands who played one or two songs on these broadcasts most certainly played at least a set, so somewhere, hopefully, all of this stuff is safely warehoused. Hopefully someday it will see the light of day instead of hiding on dodgy tapes and videos in dark, dingy basements like mine. Let's be patient - it's only been 35 years so far... -all of these tapes are my MASTERS, and I intend to eventually upload a ton of goodies I have from this series. -thanks to the Mods for allowing this material to be shared; please note that venue and date information on these broadcasts is frequently incomplete (any information would be greatly appreciated). ----------------------------------------------------------------------- One from the basement, where a couple of hundred of these purely analogue goodies reside. All of these are from my trading and taping days (which ended in 1985), and these tapes are appearing after being shut away for over 22 years! These uploads will appear occasionally, as I find time, so please don't stay up nights waiting. Comments and suggestions are welcome. GENERAL LINEAGE: trade/master cassette>AUDACITY (track splitting, no dolby or processing other than level set)>TLH Flac8, aligned, tested, ffp>you. Exact lineage will be stated in the torrent information. SOURCES: FM, SBD, audience; all analogue, all torrented to you as received (in the rough with no cuts, sequencing, NR or alterations at all unless noted). This should keep both the masochist/purist and the tweaker/remixer happy. | |||||
