| Notes: |
The reviews at the time of this show ranged the gamut from majestic to mockery, from mystical to masturbatory. It certainly can be viewed all different ways, for after repeated listenings I am still not quite sure of what the master had in mind. If you listen carefully to the audience, they are also undecided. Some are applauding wildly, some are razzing him, and some are outright booing.
I do think this performance should be viewed with a certain sense of humor. I do think, along with the outright mysticism of the first part of the set, there is some tweaking of the audience. Well, to be more honest about it - I think the audience's razzing of Mr. Abrams comes second. Mr. Abram's razzing comes first with the bird whistles. You'll see what I mean.
Mr. Abrams plays piano, electric piano, a gong, and a sifflet for the bird calls.
Thanks. Your comments are welcome. I didn't provide mp3 samples this time around for a very deliberate reason: I don't *want* you to know what you're getting into.
I want you to be surprised.
Enjoy!
