| Notes: | Show notes: This was the album release party for Silent Waters, officially released two days prior to this show. Naturally the show was sold out, as was the show on the following night in the same venue. Despite that, the gig certainly didn't feel that special, more like another routine gig. Naturally well played and performed, but no surprises anywhere. Recording notes: Recorded from the balcony against the railing. There was some annoying screamer right behind me, who apparently either noticed the video camera next to me, or the mics on me and apparently decided it'd be a good idea to start screaming his ass off. Still I'm very pleased to notice that even though one can hear his screams, he didn't manage to ruin the recording entirely. He started the screams during Shaman and ended around the time the band was playing Her Alone. The audience noise from downstairs was captured quite nicely by the mics without them being overbearing at any point. I also had someone practically dry humping me for the bigger part of the show, until I gave him the not so gentle elbow treatment. I suppose I can consider myself lucky in that it wasn't enough to start a fight there, and that the guy stopped and moved a bit to the side right after. As for the mastering phase, the only thing I did was dampen couple of slightly louder peaks (few louder claps mostly) with hardlimiting, and then normalize the entire show to -1dB. No equalization was applied. - Borlag on September 1st 2007 | |||||
