| Notes: | Notes: Direct transfer of the original master reels. An incomplete recording of unknown lineage has circulated for decades, but this complete recording (90 minutes) has never previously circulated (as of October 2015). This is the earliest documented evidence of Papa John Creach on a Jefferson Airplane performance. That being the case, this may be the debut of "John's Other." Track 12 is a blues based instrumental showcasing Creach, with some similarities to "String Jet Rock" and may be an embryonic precursor to that song, which is why I titled it "String Jet Jam" for lack of a better title. Like the two shows from the previous night, this is a relatively lo fi recording with the taper stop/starting the deck between songs, but the performance is strong and quite unique in places, including an extended version of "Volunteers" to close the show. The venue (previously unknown) was the Cotillion Ballroom and the tickets were general admission. Big thank you to my old buddy Rob Berger for helping me share these recordings 45 years after the fact. -Alan Bershaw | |||||
