Do not sell this recording. share freely, losslessly and gaplessly. comments: This is probably a full set, I'd guess an opening act set. The 1st track cuts in and has a few level adjustments which I tried to smooth out a little bit in this torrent. The tape flip was after Imaginary Voyage. I don't know if there was an encore (New Country was almost automatic for an encore at this time) in this show, but my copy has just these 5 songs and it sounds like a pretty decent audience recording. I saw them in Lenox, Mass. in July of 1977, opening for Renaissance (last show of this tour) and it was a similar length show except also a New Country encore. This was much earlier on, so I'd guess Ponty's early 77 tour must have made a big circle around the U.S.A. This was the "Imaginary Voyage" tour. I'm pretty sure by this point both Ralphe Armstrong and Steve Smith were in the band, but if not, Tom Fowler (b) and/or Mark Craney (dr) would have been the rhythm section instead. while Ponty has several good albums and songs with his own bands, IMHO, the first 3 are the best ones (Upon the Wings of Music, Aurora, and Imag. Voyage), and the next two were also quite good (Enigmatic Ocean and Cosmic Messenger). I haven't heard any less than a strong show from this time by Ponty and this is no exception. Nothing unusual in the setlist, but a nice solid performance by one of his better bands. thanks to fzmoi69 for providing this fine recording.
