Notes: LDB Special Series #49 Hello! Here is a new series from my collection. After the Master Series, here is the Special Series. Out of my 6,000+ shows and radio broadcasts, I have many concerts that were special for some reasons: the setlist, the musicians, the venue or unexpected events. These are the ones I'd like to propose you. Most of these come from my cassettes collection, so they will be released at a slower pace than my Master Series! But you won't be disappointed! I will try to gather the most unusual things I have in my collection and, as always, your feedback and comments will be my reward for all the work involved in this project. PEARL JAM Paris, Elysée Montmartre 22 June 1992 01.Intro / Oceans 02.Even Flow 03.Improvising (Selfish Man) / Why Go 04.Jeremy 05.State of Love and Trust 06.Black 07.Alive 08.Once 09.Footsteps 10.Deep 11.Leash 12.Porch (extended version!) 13.Improvising / Garden 14.Rockin' in the Free World TT: 88:08 Eddie Vedder (lead vocals, guitar) Jeff Ament (bass) Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar) Mike McCready (lead guitar) Dave Abbruzzese (drums) Lineage: Unknown Recording device > n generation copy > Aiwa Tape Deck AD-WX828 > Audigy Soundblaster > HD > SoundForge 7.0 > CD Wave >FLAC Frontend (level 6) Nothing more to say, I guess. This is one I wanted to seed since some time. The recording is pretty good and clear. This is the third show before last on the tour and the band is really on fire and very confident to play intros and improvisations before some of the songs. Pretty standard setlist for the second leg of the Ten european tour. All PJ fans will enjoy this for sure. My notes say that this is sourced from a DAT recording but honestly I cannot confirm, except that there is very little hiss, which may indicate that this comes from a digital recording. Enjoy! ldb (Note: Also have the other version of this show, with this source: PZM -> Sony TCD-D3 / Generation: DAT-M -> DAT(1) 48khz -> FLAC / Transfer: DA-20 -> Monster coax -> DiO 2496 -> Soundforge 6.0 (resample to 44.1) -> CDWave -> FLAC frontend -> FLAC [547mb])

On all of the known broadcasted versions, certain parts of the show in-between songs were consistently cut out (mostly guitar tunings and Ed's speeches about reproductive rights and taping shows where he is not using "radio-friendly language"). These missing bits and pieces have been collected as a separate montage on the last track, being sourced from a video. The quality of the video source differed greatly from the pre-FMs, so it was not feasible to try and patch it into the main source, but it is included to hear what was cut from the broadcasts. All talking by DJs that were present on the original broadcasts have been removed. For the technically curious, this is how the sources were patched together: 0:00.000 - 0:20.000(approx) Westwood One US pre-FM 0:20.000(approx) - 4:05.720 BBC Transcription Services UK pre-FM 4:05.720 - 4:12.950 Westwood One US pre-FM 4:12.950 - 7:24.231 BBC Transcription Services UK pre-FM 7:24.231 - 7:33.186 unknown UK pre-FM>1st gen analog + Westwood One US pre-FM mix (original mixing: ThinAir) 7:33.186 - 51:57.668 BBC Transcription Services UK pre-FM Artwork Notes (spacedvest): Really goofy stuff for this one (sorry, this was done years ago). I updated a little of it for this particular release, but most of it is the same as from what I had done a long time ago. :) Show Notes (thanks to Five Horizons): Amazing version of 'Black.' 'Even Flow' is dedicated to Dee from L7 as she "... hasn't had her period for nearly two months." Lyrics are modified to "... pillows made of Tampax." Ed encourages the crowd to tape shows. Hopping into the crowd during 'Porch,' Ed barely makes it back to the stage as security mistakes him for a stagediver. This is being distributed by blackredyellow.com in tandem with pj.sidewalkcrusaders.com, and is part of a series of the best Pearl Jam shows in existence (BTW, the spell checker is now on). If the artwork is not included, you can find it at blackredyellow.com. Compiled by spacedvest on 6/12/04.
