| Notes: | "Steve Wynn's surprise 25th anniversary tribute show. Edgar, the guy at his label, figured since Steve had been in the biz for 25 years and no gold watch would be forthcoming he would put together a tribute cd for him. A nice idea and beautifully executed. Then they set up a fake Dave DeCastro gig at the Lakeside. Dave asked Steve to come by and make some noise on the guitar. A bunch of the Euro-Wynn folks were there, everyone was there, except Steve. The one best seat in the house was saved for him. When he got out of the cab everyone got ready and when he walked in it was to a standing ovation. Took him a coupla minutes to figure out what the hell was going on. I don't think he was expecting to see his friends from Europe at the Lakeside, much less walk into someone else's show to a standing O! So, with Steve sitting front and center they presented him with the double digi pak tribute cd and did this show for him, eventually bringing him up for a little wailing. It was a great show, a great night and the recording does a fine job of capturing it all." -G2 | |||||
