| Notes: | Although it's a board tape, it's not a very good-sounding one with the vocals almost cut out of the mix. My suspicion is that this performance was recorded by the TV network for use in a Monkees TV show episode, that the plan from the beginning was to overdub studio vocals over the live instrumental performance. They probably assumed, correctly, that the live vocals would be crap and overdubs would be necessary. So, they never bothered capturing the live vocals on tape. The last 5 minutes of the last track pretty much proves me correct: it's a studio vocal overdub session (Micky Dolenz' multiple attempts at singing a piece of "Last Train To Clarksville" in the studio over the live recording.) | |||||
